Reminder of fireworks ban

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind all citizens of the existing ban on all fireworks. With a resolution passed by the Pima County Board of Supervisors on June 5, 2012, all fireworks are prohibited in the unincorporated areas of Pima County until further notice.
The Board of Supervisors made note of the fact that we currently experience levels of extreme fire danger and that resources to fight and suppress fires are seriously depleted due to other catastrophic wildfires. As these conditions still exist, and with the realization that fireworks pose a serious risk of igniting fires, all citizens are asked to exercise due caution and be conscious about the persistently dangerous conditions.
Use of fireworks during the ban is a Class 3 Misdemeanor and all violators will be arrested.
